Kareena’s Caftan

The central air has failed again at Kareena’s apartment in Mumbai, but she doesn’t mind. 
The balcony doors are open, a breeze drifts in from the bay, and she’s in the kitchen mixing up limbu paani.
“Mango juice is nice, but on hot days we like limbu paani best… lime juice, water, sugar, sea salt, like Mataji used to make.”
She smiles. “And you know, it’s even better in the evening."
